Who's in line for final roster spots for Packers?

The Green Bay Press-Gazette's Tom Pelissero has a unique eye for picking out the unnoticed things that most observers fail to see at Packers training camp.

While most eyes are on Aaron Rodgers and other star players, Pelissero has kept tabs on those players who will be fighting for roster spots.

As astute fans know, special teams play a large role in earning those last few roster spots especially if those players aren't going to see a lot of time in the base offensive and defensive packages.

Here's a look at some of those backup type of players making up some of the first string special teams units.

"(Tory Humphrey is) on the No. 1 punt and punt return units," writes Pelissero. "So are Desmond Bishop, Jason Hunter, Tracy White, Humphrey and Michael Montgomery. Pat Lee and Charlie Peprah are playing outside on both units."

And how about those players that kind of sneak up on people from seemingly nowhere? Here's a couple of candidates.

"During the last team period, FB Ryan Powdrell and TEs Joey Haynos and Jermichael Finley opened with the starters," reports Pelissero. "Later in the same period, DEs Jeremy Thompson and Jason Hunter got work with the No. 1 defense. Such mixing-and-matching is common during camp, but it's interesting nonetheless to see who gets the opportunities."

It's early, but for those railbird going out to training camp practice over the next couple days, these may be some names you want to watch out for.
