One More Thing For Notre Dame Fans To Look Forward To This Fall

Times they are a changing.

Multiple outlets are reporting that USC is replacing AD Mike Garrett with former QB and current NBC color analyst Pat Haden .

Why do Notre Dame fans care about this?

Because if you feel like I do , it has been a long time coming to replace the awful, anti-ND voice we are forced to endure on many Saturday afternoons each fall.  I don't know who NBC will replace him with, but one thing is almost certain—it can't get much worse than the Haden/Hammond combo.

A few possibilities:

Steve Beuerlein—former ND QB, currently with CBS doing color commentary

Chris Collinsworth—can he double up with Sunday Night Football, especially with his son on a football scholarship in South Bend?

Jerome Bettis—can he make a move from the studio to the booth?

One final thought to NBC: while you are at it, send Tom Hammond back to the stable to cover the ponies and find a brand new team.  After all, with a new coaching staff in place, new is the theme this fall for the Irish.
