Liverpool continue their preparations for the upcoming season and start with a bang in the transfer market.

Just yesterday, the news that Joe Cole signed a contract with Liverpool was welcomed by all Liverpool supporters after a horrible season.

Early this evening more good news for Liverpool, as the Rangers have agreed to sell defender Danny Wilson for a £5 million deal.

Chief Executive Martin Bain had this to say on the club's official website:

"We have agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool for the transfer of Danny Wilson. Liverpool's offer will see the club receive £2 million up front with add-ons linked to games played, taking the total value of the deal to £5 million."

First Joe Cole, now Danny Wilson, as the newly hired manager Roy Hodgson looks to strengthen the squad.

Furthermore, Steven Gerrard looks to stay with the Reds after strong speculation that he could be on his way to Madrid.
