I had to take a step back for a minute and stop drinking the kool-aid that eveyone is enjoying. Yeah we have made improvements on defense and upgraded our QB (don't know how much yet though). However, it doesn't matter who is under center or who we have running the ball or catching the ball because we STILL have not made any serious improvements to the offensive line. Mario Henderson IS NOT a top notch left tackle and even though we drafted 2 rookie offensive linemen, they aren't starter material yet so all they are at this moment is depth. Yes Jamarcus held on to the ball too long. Yes, he threw into coverage. Yes he got sacked too much. But unless we do something this summer to DRASTICALLY improve our O-Line (specifically Left Tackle), Jason Campbell is going to have similar issues. Both of our backup QB's got hurt last year behind the SAME OFFENSIVE LINE. It can't be all the QB's fault.

It's nice for us to have all this healthy optimism and be proud of all the moves we made in the off-season so far, but any real football person knows that the game is played in the trenches. If your offensive line is not worth anything, pass protection and run blocking is almost non-existent. It won't matter if Chaz is healthy, if DHB is running better routes and catching balls better or if Murphy has learned to hold on to the ball if our O-Line doesn't give Jason the time to throw (or keep him off his back).

Someone asked in an article before if we as Raider fans were just setting ourselves up for another disappointing season, and the overwhelming response was NO! We are going to the playoffs. We will win the AFC West, etc, etc. Someone PLEASE tell me how in the heck are we going to do that with pretty much the same starting offensive line as last year?
