The Charlotte Bobcats have signed their star power forward Emeka Okafor to a $72 million contract over six years.
For a little while, it looked like Okafor was going to sign with another team. He turned down a big offer in the beginning of the season and didn't sign with the team until late in free agency.
Okafor was the NBA's Rookie of the Year in the 2004-2005 season. He showed great development in the NBA through the last couple of years. Last year he played all 82 games of the NBA season, averaging 13.8 points per game and 10.7 rebounds per game.
Hopefully, the money won't go to his head, and the Bobcats can crack the playoffs in a weak Eastern Conference.

Hopefully, the Charlotte Bobcats will actually improve next season to qualify for the playoffs.
