The New Orleans Hornets and Jeff Bower have agreed to "mutually part ways". Jeff Bower spent 14 years with the hornet's organazation in various capacities and the last five as the hornets GM. Bower had to take over as an interm head coach last year after the firing of Byron Scott just nine games into the season.   Bower is credited with the drafting of players like Chris Paul,Darren Collisoion, and Marcus Thorton, he also is the scap goat for hornets fans for making front office moves that didn't pan out as well as the money they are being paid. His last siging was of veteran Guard Luther Head,He was also reportedly inquring about boston celtics free agent guard marques daniels late last week.    One can take this firing in more than one way. maybe the Hornets are trying to prove to Chris Paul that they really are commited to winning. or maybe the GM decided to step down because he knows that things are going to get worst this year and years to come but i don't think that, that is the case because he would have jumped ship and took the nets job he was offered two weeks ago.maybe the sell of the Hornets from majority owner Gary Choschet to minorty owner Geroge Shinn is about go through.   Nobody knows, but they did fire him at a pefect time the leauge is filled with unmployed GMs right now but they waited so late to fire him they have to make a decsion in a matter of weeks possibly days but it won't be too hard.
