Five Maple Leafs that could Make a Difference for the 10-11 season
The Leafs had a disastrous 09-10 season coming in 29th place in the league. These are five players that could be the difference between making the playoffs for the first time since losing to the Flyers in six games in the conference semi-final in 2004.
Jonas Gustavsson really heated up after the Olympics, probably due to gained confidence from being chosen to back up Henrik 'The King' Lunqdvist for Team Sweden. Winning eight straight this will be his starting job to take andI believe his number will improve dramatically.
Colby Armstrong was Brian Burke's biggest free agent signing so far his free agency. Colby is a very valuable player, he will fight, he can score and take a spot if some one is injured and he's a great leader.
Dion Phaneuf is the new captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Hockey Mecca, the hockey centre of the universe. In the upcoming season he can prove to us he's worthy of the hardest C to come by in all of hockey and if he can fill Mats Sundin's Shoes
This kid has a lot of expactations. He is expected by many to snag the #1 centre spot straight out of camp and I for one think by the end of the season he will have the #1 slot between Kessel and Versteeg. This kid can do it all, deke, shoot, pass, and is not too bad of a hitter either.
I have great Expactations for this kid
Phil Kessel, according to Ray H, the new whipping boy of Toronto. I for one think it will never come to that but I certainly do think he needs to outperform
Tyler Seguin. if worst comes to worst Seguin will have 35 goals 40 assists and Kessel 20 Goals 10 assists but I do not think that will come. I think Kessel will score 35-40 next year and Seguin will put up 25. If Kessel has a breakout season next year people will stop hassling Burke. I loved the Kessel trade.
