World Football Transfer Market: 25 Players Under 25 Years Old

The 2010 World Cup ended with Spanish captain Iker Casillas raising the golden trophy, and now the transfer speculation starts.

Casillas isn't going anywhere, but there are a number of young players who made a big splash during their time in South Africa.

Teams salivate at players that are young and have shown the potential for greatness. This list is 25 players under 25 years old who could possibly be on the move this summer.

Kevin-Prince Boateng

Club: Portsmouth

Boateng was one of the breakout stars of the 2010 World Cup. He was one of the key pieces to Ghana's run to the final eight.

His club, Portsmouth, was relegated this past season so he may be looking to move on to face better competition. Boateng should be one of the hottest names on the transfer market.

Michael Bradley

Club: Borussia Mönchengladbach

Many American fans and spectators were very impressed with Bradley's play. He doesn't do anything particularly great, but he does most things very well.

He has an unbelievable fitness level, and it seems like he never stops moving.

Fernando Muslera

The starting keeper for Uruguay had a very strong tournament up until the last game against Germany, when he looked timid and unsure of himself.

He allowed eight goals in seven games, with three each to Germany and the Netherlands.

Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez was a very dangerous player for the Chilean squad, and he is very confident on the ball.

He has a very bright future, and would be a welcome addition to almost any team in the world.

Manuel Neuer

The starting keeper for Germany allowed only three goals in the six games he played while accumulating an astonishing 20 saves.

He has excellent reflexes, and, at 6'3", he is a solid presence in the air on crosses and shots.

Javier Hernandez

Hernandez was used as a super-sub for Mexico. He scored two of the team's four goals despite starting only one game.

He is a hard worker with good speed, and he knows how to get open.

Luis Suarez

Suarez was one of the most controversial figures in the World Cup. His deliberate hand-ball cost Ghana a sure goal.

There is no doubt the talent is there, but he often goes missing for long periods of time.

Keisuke Honda

Honda was definitely one of the biggest stars of the group stage.

He scored two of Japan's four goals and showed that he has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time.

Asamoah Gyan

Gyan had quite a swing in emotions in South Africa. Against the US, he scored the game-winning goal in stoppage time.

Against Uruguay, he missed a penalty kick in the closing seconds of the game that would have won the game.

He is not afraid to shoot, and he knows how to find the holes in a defense.

Thomas Mueller

Mueller had a very successful tournament, accumulating five goals and three assists.

He has excellent endurance, which allows him to use his excellent attacking ability throughout the entire game.

Lee Chung-Yong

A talented right winger, Lee Chung-Yong scored two goals in four games played.

He may be in line for a transfer to a bigger EPL team, following in the footsteps of South Korean teammate Park Ji-Sung.

Gervinho

Gervinho was a very capable replacement for the injured Didier Drogba on the Ivory Coast squard.

Although he didn't score, he showed that he has a lot of potential, and at age 23, he has a lot of time to develop.

Vidal showed during the World Cup that he is a very versatile midfield player.

Although he didn't score, he did commit 16 fouls in just four games, He plays his heart out and leaves nothing on the field.

Angel Di Maria

Di Maria was probably the least well-known Argentine midfielder, hiding behind the likes of Messi, Mascherano, and Rodriguez.

He didn't score a goal in South Africa, but he has excellent pace down the wing and delivers very high quality balls.

Anthony Annan

Annan filled in for the injured Michael Essien and excelled as the defensive midfielder for Ghana.

He consistently broke up opposing attacks and did a nice job of finding teammates in transition.

Fabio Coentrao

Coentrao proved himself to be one of the best young left backs in the World Cup. He played solid defense and was always looking to deliver quality crosses into the middle.

He currently plays for Benfica, but the bigger clubs could look to snatch him up while he's young.

Gary Medel

Medel proved himself to be an extremely versatile player for the Chilean national team.

He has the physical tools and attributes to play both defense and midfield.

Valter Birsa

American fans should remember Birsa as the guy who scored the first goal for Slovenia in their match against the United States.

Birsa showed that he knows how to find the open gaps in the defense and may transfer to another club.

Sergio Aguero

Aguero, the son-in-law of Argentina coach Diego Maradona, struggled to find time on the field with all the talent ahead of him.

At age 22, he is still very young, and he has shown flashes of what he is capable of doing.

Ozil definitely used the world's biggest stage to showcase his talents. He scored one goal for Germany and had three assists in a playmaking role.

He should be one of the biggest names on the transfer market.

Perhaps the biggest name in all the transfer rumors, Fabregas has seemingly outgrown Arsenal and is likely to move to a Spanish-based team.

He didn't start a game for Spain, but he was used as a substitute in four games and had the assist on the game-winning and World Cup-clinching goal by Andres Iniesta.
