The Kovalchuk saga has finally reached its end.

Late Monday night Kovalchuk reached an agreement with the Miami Heat. Specifics about the contract have yet to surface but the deal is rumored to keep Ilya in South Beach for almost three decades.

The PBA(Professional Bowlers Association) had been thought to be the front runner for Ilya but they pulled their offer from the table because the signing of Kovalchuk would have made the sport too popular.

The decision of where to sign weighed on him for quite some time. His wife ultimately made the choice for him and said, "If Miami is good enough for LeBron, its good enough for me."

When asked if he had ever played basketball Ilya responded, "Does h-o-r-s-e count?"
