When McFarlane Toys, the creators and manufactors of NFL Sports Picks recently announced their upcoming line up for the Series 23, I got excited and disappointed at the same time. I just knew for 100% that they would finally make a Patrick Willis figure to add to my collection, but yet again, I will just have to customize another 49er out of this Junior Seau that I am working on right now. I was glad to hear that they were making the rookie figure for Michael Crabtree, but come on, how long will it take for Todd McFarlane's crew to recognize one of the BEST linebackers to play the game so far. He finished as the top Defensive player last year, having more tackles than anyone. So, how long do we have to keep altering Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis to have P. Willie in our collections? It really angers me being in my third decade of being a Niners Faithful because I can remember back in the 80's when stores would be wall to wall Niners everywhere. You wouldn't believe how many Montana, Young and Rice figures that I own in pack and loose. You can find any of those guys quite commonly. But when it comes to Alex Smith, so few were made that he is really hard to find ( I had to search eBay for quite some time until I found one that was priced decently. They have made countless Rothlisbergers, Mannings, Bradys, and even Montana......CAN WE HAVE SOME NEW GUYS???? I would be really happy with a Defensive Set period dedicatied to all the defensive superstars in the NFL..... One day maybe...who knows... Starting Lineup DID overproduce but they did make it fair for EVERY team in the NFL to have figures for each even if some teams only got two. I realize that alot of work goes into each figure, but be more fair about who you select and remember that EVERY team's fans would like the chance to own figures that represent their favorite players.
