The Five Best Fights In The UFC This Summer
This summer is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in UFC history.
Here' s a list of the five most exciting fights we're going to see in the next few months.
No. 5: B.J. Penn vs. Frankie Edgar Part Deux
Frankie Edgar beat an out-of-shape B.J. Penn in a controversial decision in Abu Dhabi a few months ago.
Anyone who has watched Penn over his career can tell you that he will probably show up in shape and dominate Edgar before getting fat again and losing to someone else later.
No. 4: Amazing Individual Frank Mir vs. Minotauro Nogueira
This is another rematch.
Mir knocked out Big Nog, who supposedly was sick at the time, in the first fight. It was the first time that Big Nog had been finished.
I think Nogueira is done, and this fight will end very similarly to the first one.
No. 3: Roy Nelson vs. The Mighty Junior Dos Santos
I am not an objective JDS fan, but I think this fight is going to be much closer than people are anticipating.
I would hate for JDS to lose, but a fight between Nelson and Lesnar would be the closest thing to a WWE event MMA will ever see.
I still fully expect JDS to knockout the fat man.
No. 2: Brock Lesnar vs. Cain Velasquez
After Lesnar's performance against Shane Carwin last weekend, this fight becomes much more interesting.
Velasquez has great cardio, and a strong wrestling background.
However, he is MUCH smaller than Brock and not the same kind of physical freak.
This fight will come down to whether Velasquez can stop Lesnar's takedowns, or get up if he does get taken down.
No. 1: Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen
The fight I'm most excited about this summer pairs trash talker extraordinaire Chael Sonnen and the most obnoxious/talented fighter alive, Anderson Silva.
If I could pay money for the right to watch Sonnen slam Silva repeatedly on his head, I would probably pay up to $500.
My guess is Silva will be motivated by amazing individual Sonnen's quotes about having to beat Silva up for the good of humanity.
