The 2010 University of Michigan football season is edging closer to that opening kickoff against Connecticut.
Even though the Wolverines are not ranked in any preseason rankings, this might be the most anticipated season to date.
Over the past few months, the headlines have been negative and Michigan fans are ready for the positive.
There are a number of issues surrounding the program that fans want to see resolved during 2010.
The following slideshow will cover a number of topics that Wolverines fans are ready to see this season.
No. 1 Thing-Rich Rodriguez Saga Must End in November 2010
Everyone knows that two camps have formed in Ann Arbor concerning Coach Rodriguez.
The first camp welcomed the regime change and has been patient.
The second camp (The Old Guard) does not like the changes that have been brought to Ann Arbor.
The Bottom Line: Coach Rodriguez is a good football coach and he can certainly coach at Michigan and in the Big Ten.
His two years, however, have been less than glamorous with constant negative headlines and two losing seasons.
It is year three and the Wolverines must win and show progress on the field this year.
If the Wolverines get to a bowl and show that they will be a team to be reckoned with once again then Rodriguez should stay as the head coach.
If the Wolverines fail to qualify for a bowl and fall apart down the stretch then the winds of change will blow through Ann Arbor once more.
Time will tell come November.
No. 2 Thing- An Athletic Director with integrity and guts
There were many Michigan fans who were glad to see Bill Martin go.
Likewise, many were pleased that a former player under Bo(David Brandon) was the new guy to lead Michigan athletics into the future.
So far, Brandon has shown true leadership skills in handling the NCAA investigation.
He has also shown that he is a man who will hold people responsible for their actions.
If Brandon has to make a difficult decision about Rodriguez in November, then Michigan fans want him to do it without dragging it out.
He should also be fair to all parties involved.
If a change is made then Brandon should take the the lead and explain to the Michigan family that a new coach will mean even more time for transition so they understand what to expect.
If a new football coach is to be hired, take your time and don't worry about how the story is playing out on ESPN.
and for God's sake, don't be out sailing or fishing without a cell phone when an interested candidate calls to inquire about the job.

No.3 Thing- A Tough/Competitive Michigan Defense
If the 2010 Michigan offense can score more than 30 points each game in 2010 then that will be outstanding.
On the other hand, if the Michigan defense gives up 31 or more points per game then we will all be watching another bowl season without our beloved Wolverines.
Coach Rodriguez and Coach Robinson have done an excellent job recruiting for the defense.
They will be young in 2010, however, some experience will return.
Yes, losing Warren and Graham will sting.
The defense did an excellent job against the Buckeyes last year and let's hope that was a glimpse of what is to come.
Yes, they will be young, however it is time to compete and take away the big play.
No. 4 Thing-Less Quarterback Mistakes.
It was very easy last season to understand the reasoning behind the mistakes made from the quarterback position as they were just Freshmen.
Michigan fans should expect this be better in 2010.
Both Forcier and Robinson have a season under their belts and should be difficult to contain in 2010.
No. 5 Thing- Denard Robinson On The Field More in 2010.
It is obvious that Denard Robinson can really be a headache for opposing defenses.
It has also been reported that his passing skills have really sharpened as well.
That is great news for Michigan because this kid needs to be on the field somewhere if he is not playing quarterback.
Use him somewhere and watch the offense move the ball.

No. 6 Thing-Beat Notre Dame Again in 2010
It was a magical game last year for Tate Forcier and the Wolverines.
This is always a good game between the Irish and Wolverines.
It is also worthy to note that the Domers are still whining about bad calls in last years game.
Nevertheless, Michigan won the game regardless of the calls.
This year, the Irish will play at home and they have a new coach.
Yes, Coach Kelly was brought in to revive college football's most glorious program.
This is an important game for the Wolverines and they must win again, especially in South Bend.
No. 7 Thing-Beat Michigan State in 2010
Little Brother has been laughing for quite some time now.
The basketball court is another story, but the football field?
It is time for this to end in 2010 and Michigan fans expect it this year in Ann Arbor.

No. 8 Thing- Be Invited To A Bowl Game
Just like the good old days-It is time to return.
The more wins means invitations to better bowls.
Michigan fans want an extra game this year during the holidays.

No. 9 Thing- Hear Less Negativity From the Detroit Free Press/Drew Sharp
The negative headlines will start pouring in during August with the NCAA rulings and Michigan fans are ready.
There is one thing we are ready for and that is Drew Sharp's ridicluous negativity towards the University of Michigan.
More wins in 2010 will hopefully create less negativity from this newspaper.
Even though the negativity will continue, less would be nice for the Wolverines in 2010.

No. 10 Thing-Beat Ohio State!
This series is beyond the point of ridiculous.
This will be a tough one in 2010 and it will be played in the Horseshoe.
Football, however, is a funny game and strange things can happen.
The Wolverines played Pryor and Buckeyes tough last year in Ann Arbor.
It is time for this series to swing the other way and how sweet it would be this year considering how good the Buckeyes are supposed to be in 2010.
