NBA Summer League 2010: Improve the L.A. Clippers Without LeBron James

The Los Angeles Clippers didn’t have much to cheer about during the 2009-2010 season. Injuries, poor play, and playing in the same building as the NBA champions are not a recipe for success.

So why the high fives, Baron Davis and Rasual Butler?

Because the Big Man cometh.

Barring another freak injury, former number one overall pick Blake Griffin will join the Clips roster and starting lineup for the 2010-2011 campaign. Rejoice, Clipper nation!

Did you just hear four people clap?

However, the Clippers only have five players under contract as summer ball gets underway, so there are plenty of slots for the taking.

The 10 players invited to their squad will all be going hard to make the cut, but who are these guys?

Let’s take a trip to Las Vegas and find out.

Fortunately, this trip won’t cost you your life savings or give you an interesting story to explain to the missus.

Note: Griffin will not be playing in the summer league. The Clippers will do anything to make sure he plays in at least one regular season game.

After that, it’s all up in the air.
