Brian Zoubek was a part of history at Duke.

When Duke recruited Big Z, they knew they had someone that could develop into something special. Even at the beginning of his senior year, not many would call him special.

Now that his Duke career is over, special is in fact one of the words used to describe this true life skyscraper. Other words in which you could describe Z is strong, smart, champion, and Net.

One of those is not like the other. Net? I am not talking about his shooting stroke, I am talking about his new employer.

LeBron James and D-Wade aren't the only ones making the best out of this free agency time.

Brian Zoubek recently signed a contract with the New Jersey Nets.

According to the Nets, they can not release the details contained in the contract, but be certain that this is no done deal.

Z will have to prove his worth this summer. He begins July 5 playing in the AirTran Airways Pro Summer league. If he hopes to continue wearing a jersey for the Nets he will need to be the force Duke got used to having late in the season last year.

Last season Z led the National Champion Duke Blue Devils with 309 rebounds in 746 minutes played. His coming out party was a big one against Maryland, in which he had 17 rebounds, 16 points, and was a force down low.
