Going into this summer's transfer window, there are tons of players that are being sought after as clubs look to go after them to win trophies.

From a star striker to a young goalkeeper, these players are always wanted and get tons of money.

However, there are always some overrated players on the transfer market as sides look to dish out big money for an eventual bust.

With that in mind, here are the Top 20 Overrated Players on the Market.

No. 20 Landon Donovan

Current Club: Los Angeles Galaxy

Clubs Linked To: Manchester City, Chelsea, and Everton.

Why he is overrated: The face of American soccer, Landon Donovan has proven himself to be a great player for the USA, but outside of a ten-week loan to Everton last winter, he has fallen flat on his face in European play.

No. 19 Franck Ribery

Current Club: Bayern Munich

Clubs Linked To: Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Why he is overrated: Mainly overrated due to the fact that many still believe that he will move away from Bayern Munich, Franck Ribery still had a terrible World Cup for France and that might somehow cause his form to deteriorate for Bayern Munich.

No. 18 Steven Pienaar

Current Club: Everton

Clubs Linked To: Arsenal, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool.

Why he is overrated: Pienaar had a great season for Everton and that caused some people to believe that Pienaar could go elsewhere. Because of that, rumors have been escalating that he will leave Goodison Park, and that caused Pienaar's value to go up.

No. 17 Lassana Diarra

Current Club: Real Madrid

Clubs Linked To: Tottenham, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

Why he is overrated: Diarra had a terrible year for Real Madrid as he found himself relegated to the bench as the season wore on. He also now has sickle-cell anemia, which could cause Diarra to lose some of his ability on the football pitch.

Current Club: West Ham United

Clubs Linked To: Liverpool, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, and Everton.

Why he is overrated: Carlton Cole had tons of extra hype around him after he was heavily linked to Arsenal last winter. He is a good young player, but he is nowhere near the level that the media claims he is.

Current Club: Real Madrid

Clubs Linked To: Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

Why he is overrated: Once a player with a great future in front of him, Rafael van der Vaart has gotten less and less time at Real Madrid and with the Netherlands in recent years, causing his form to drop. Now, maybe he is still a great player, but the fact that a bench player is worth about 10 million pounds is incredible to me.

No. 14 Sol Campbell

Current Club: Arsenal

Clubs Linked To: St Pauli, Celtic, Manchester City and Arsenal (Campbell currently is a free agent).

Why he is overrated: Despite having a solid year for Arsenal after his dispute with Notts County, Sol Campbell is still a 35 year old defender that is at his end. He shouldn't get a lucrative deal from anyone and he appears that he will be at his end in the next two years.

No. 13 Bobby Zamora

Current Club: Fulham

Clubs Linked To: Birmingham City, Celtic, Sunderland, Everton and Aston Villa.

Why he is overrated: Bobby Zamora had a great year with Fulham last year, but I feel that he had that great year due to Zamora trying unsuccessfully to get onto Fabio Capello's World Cup squad. This year, his numbers will be lower and these clubs linked to Zamora should be cautious.

No. 12 Karim Benzema

Current Club: Real Madrid

Clubs Linked To: Manchester United, Inter Milan, and AC Milan

Why he is overrated: Karim Benzema is extremely talented, but we don't exactly know how well he can handle playing full time with a top European side. Right now, it appears that Real Madrid was not the right move for Benzema, so maybe he will leave to try for success elsewhere.

No. 11 Cesc Fabregas

Current Club: Arsenal

Clubs Linked To: Barcelona

Why he is overrated: Cesc Fabregas is overrated due to the incredible amount of media exposure for his potential move to Barcelona. If he goes to Barcelona, he will not be a guaranteed starter and will not be as great as he is for Arsenal right now.

No. 10 Thierry Henry (No Longer On the Market)

Current Club: NY Red Bulls

Why he is overrated: Thierry Henry was once one of the best players in the world without question back when he was with Arsenal, but since his handball incident against Ireland last November, his play has really fallen downward. At this stage of his career, MLS is the best destination for Henry.

No. 9 Felipe Melo

Current Club: Juventus

Clubs Linked To: Arsenal and AC Milan.

Why he is overrated: An extremely talented footballer, Felipe Melo has seen his form drop since his move to Juventus last summer. Of course, this is not including his terrible match against the Netherlands in the World Cup where he became the biggest goat in Brazilian football in the year 2010.

No. 8 Craig Bellamy

Current Club: Manchester City

Clubs Linked To: Everton, Fulham, and Tottenham.

Why he is overrated: Craig Bellamy is a very talented footballer but he allows his opinion to get heard too often. He does not last very long with any side that he joins, and is not worth a major long-term investment.

No. 7 Mario Balotelli

Current Club: Inter Milan

Clubs Linked To: AC Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

Why he is overrated: Mario Balotelli is a fantastic young player but he just continue to seems to have controversy around him. From racist chants to his infamous breakdown after a Champions League match for Inter last year, nothing seems to go his way. He could become one of the biggest busts of this era.

No. 6 James Milner

Current Club: Aston Villa

Clubs Linked To: Manchester City, Everton and Chelsea.

Why he is overrated: James Milner has gotten tons of recent publicity on the English national team, but he proved himself to be as ineffective as he has been put out to be by the media in the World Cup. He doesn't deserve to get a big money move yet, but with Man City and Chelsea in the equation, he will get it.

No. 5 Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Current Club: AC Milan

Clubs Linked To: Tottenham, Manchester United, Everton, and Arsenal.

Why he is overrated: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is a player that's talent gets blown way out of preportion. He has a less-than-stellar year for AC Milan, and is no longer a starter for the Dutch national side. Now, he will need to prove his worth next year but someone will most likely overpay for Huntelaar.

No. 4 William Gallas

Current Club: Arsenal

Clubs Linked To: Roma, Paris St Germain, Juventus and Arsenal (Gallas is a free agent).

Why he is overrated: William Gallas has had some recent injury problems with Arsenal before making the French squad in the World Cup. Now, someone could be overpaying for the Frenchman's services even though we don't know how much he has left.

Current Club: Real Madrid

Clubs Linked To: Chelsea

Why he is overrated: Over the last several months, Kaka has continued to go downhill with injuries and his play really has suffered as a result. Chelsea would be paying a lot for a player who is damaged goods, and he wouldn't be a great fit for Chelsea.

No. 2 Joe Cole

Current Club: Chelsea

Clubs Linked To: Juventus, Manchester United, Manchester City, AC Milan and Chelsea (Cole is a free agent).

Why he is overrated: Joe Cole's play has really started to deteriorate in the last several years and barely made England's World Cup squad. He still wants to prove that he has what it takes to be a great player, and maybe he still is great but he still is overrated to me.

No. 1 Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Current Club: Barcelona

Clubs Linked To: Chelsea and Manchester City.

Why he is overrated: Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the best footballers in the world, but he can be extremely inconsistent. He never has had success in England, and I think that a move there will be bad for him.
