In the NBA, we have many different arguments about who is better at what position and who is considered the best player in the league.
So, I raise this question.
Who is better Kobe Bryant or LeBron James? Today, I am going to break down each player and show who I think is a more productive and efficient basketball player.
Let's start with Kobe.
27.0ppg, 5.4rpg, and 5.0apg
2010 Playoff Stats
29.2ppg, 6.0rpg, and 5.5apg
25.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 4.7apg
According to these stats, it seems like Kobe Bryant has had a very good career—A fabulous one at that. With five championship rings, it doesn't seem like he's going to stop anytime soon. I think Kobe will go for another seven years. He has enough talent to do that.
Kobe also can add two finals MVP's to that list with one Season MVP award and three all-star MVP awards out of 12 all-star appearances.
These aren't all of his awards, but I'm not going to get into the smaller stuff like a Slam Dunk Champion and how eight times, he was on the All-NBA First team and All-Defensive First Team. This is Kobe Bryant in a nutshell, and might I say, the Hornets are completely stupid.
And now for LeBron.
29.7ppg, 7.3rpg, and 8.6apg
2010 Playoff Stats
29.1ppg, 9.3 rpg, and 7.6 apg
27.8ppg, 7.0rpg, and 7.0apg
This is LeBron James. He has won two straight Season MVP awards. This is huge for any player. He has been an all-star every year besides his rookie season (six times), and has two all-star MVP's. He was the NBA scoring champion in 2008 and has four All-NBA First Team awards, with two defensive player of the year awards. Pretty good seven-year career if you ask me.
Here is my argument between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. In my opinion, since LeBron James has been in the NBA, both players have had their best teams to win a championship and bring it home. Kobe has won a couple since LBJ joined the league, so there's a point for Bryant.
During the regular season, LeBron James has one back-to-back MVP awards doubling the awards of Kobe Bryant and James did it six years younger and with Kobe in the lead. Point for LeBron.
Kobe Bryant is one of the most clutch performers of all-time, and he had a better playoff than LeBron James. Point for Kobe.
LeBron James beat Kobe Bryant when it came to the regular season and racked up more wins for his team, so there's two for James..
Kobe Bryant beat the Boston Celtics in the playoffs, and LeBron didn't. Three for Kobe.
LeBron has averaged more assists and rebounds throughout his career than Kobe Bryant. Three for LeBron.
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Kobe outperformed LeBron, but when the final whistle blows it comes down to which team has more points, not the individual player.
Cleveland wins series 2-0
