Last Friday, it was announced that Greg Nord, the TE coach and recruiting coordinator, would be leaving the University of Illinois for Kentucky—his alma mater.

"We understand the allure of going home," Zook said. "We wish him well and we're moving forward."

Nord was Illinois’ TE coach for only six months, but decided it was best for him to leave and is now expected to take over the same position at Kentucky.

Now, Illinois is working hard to find the best possible fit for a completely rejuvenated staff.

According to my source, Illinois is looking for a new TE coach with experience being the main focus.

Even more specifically, they are searching for someone with experience in a pro-style like offense, because that is the way Petrino likes his offense run.

Illinois has reached out to several veteran coaches, but no offers have been made yet.

They are hoping to hire a new coach by July 15.
