Maple Leafs winger Nikolai Kulemin has signed a new two-year contract to stay in Toronto.

Kulemin will earn $2.35m a year for a total of $4.7m over the two years.

Last season Kulemin put up 16 goals and 36 points, developing into the Leafs' best two-way forward and cementing his spot on their top line alongside Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel.

It had been reported that Kulemin was holding out for a $3m+ deal, but the two parties have come to an agreement which allows them to renegotiate in two years time depending on Kulemin's performance over the next couple of seasons.
