The ominous series of events that have ensued since the beginning of the Nexus angle have been causes of concern for all parties involved.

So much so that the term "jinx" is starting to carry a considerable amount of merit given the odd occurrences in recent WWE history.

It all started with a tie.

During a beatdown angle of John Cena that would prove to be the start of the WWE's big summer angle, a well done, yet easily overlooked, spot saw Daniel Bryan choke Justin Roberts with his own tie.

Bryan was subsequently released for violating WWE's "anti-choking" law as part of its TV-PG initiative, and all kinds of voodoo mumbo-jumbo ensued.

The Nexus angle has been the most intriguing angle done by WWE in years. Yet much of the intrigue created by this angle is unintentional, and it has just as much to do with happenings out of the ring as it does with the action inside of it.

The former WWE NXT Superstars have heavily contributed to what can only be known as a WWE jinx. Call it the curse of Justin's Tie.

WWE Fires Daniel Bryan for Choking Justin Roberts

As mentioned in the intro, it all started with a tie.

Daniel Bryan was one of the key players in what was initially thought to be the NXT 8.

Along with WWE NXT winner Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan was one of two lead dogs set to carry the Nexus to prominence as they tore through the WWE roster.

Bryan's in-ring expertise, tested over a period of 10 years all around the world, set him apart from his fellow Nexus members, previously known as "Rookies." A well-done angle with Michael Cole and The Miz helped Bryan gain more notoriety with the WWE Universe.

It seemed that there was nowhere to go but up for this infinitely talented cult hero.

If it wasn't for that damned tie.

Daniel Bryan's choke of Justin Roberts, a spot that was given significant camera time during the final minutes of RAW, was the catalyst for an outside complaint (from a sponsor, or entity who figured to have a profound influence on WWE) that would unfortunately be the end of Daniel Bryan, at least for now.

Bryan's release was met with suspicion and skepticism from wrestling pundits. However, the confirmation of the legitimacy of this release has been an impetus for an outcry of injustice among Bryan's fans and peers, namely John Cena, who ranted on Twitter about the unfairness of such circumstances.

"Limo Driver" Anlge Vanishes Before Our Very Eyes

Limo_display_image

As part of a huge follow up to their attack on John Cena from the previous week, The Nexus, with the assistance of an unnamed Limo Driver, attacked Bret Hart in what has turned out to be the last time Bret appeared on WWE TV to this point.

The key to sustaining interest in any big angle is the follow up, however following Bret Hart's sudden departure, any further mention as to who (storyline) drove the limo was minimal.

The failure of the WWE's acknowledgment of a man who - I don't konw - tried to kill Bret Hart has contributed to one of many holes in this story.

Nobody's supposed to care who drove this limo? What happened to him? Was he deported as well?

Bret Hart Pulled from WWE Programming Indefinitely

Following a storyline attack by the Nexus members, Bret "The Hitman" Hart was relieved of his duties as WWE GM and has been pulled from all WWE programming.

Hart was expected to appear at the WWE Fatal 4 Way Pay-per-View as part of a big follow-up to the Nexus angle. Yet, Hart has not been seen on WWE TV since being (kayfabe) victimized by intentional vehicular manslaughter.

Hart's sudden banishment from WWE programming curiously occurred around the same time his estranged sister-in-law, Martha Hart, filed a lawsuit against the WWE for their commercial use of footage of Bret's brother, the late Owen Hart.

To make matters stranger, Hart has recently spoken out on Facebook, saying even he doesn't know his status with the WWE and going on to blast his rather bitter sister-in-law.

Wade Barrett Deported for Visa Issues

In yet another potentially fatal blow to the Nexus storyline, the group's vociferous leader, Wade Barrett, was suddenly deported from the United States when his Visa expired, along with fellow WWE exchange student Drew McIntyre.

Barret was deported indefinitely when his Visa expired. He was forced to renew the Visa while in his homeland, the United Kingdom, in accordance with post-September 11th protocol.

There was concern that the WWE would not be able to accommodate Barrett and McIntyre until after their annual Summerslam Pay-per-View in August. However, it is now being reported that the pesky Visa issues keeping Barrett and McIntyre out of the country have been resolved and both should be back with the company by next week.

Ricky Steamboat Legitimately Hospitalized Following Nexus Attack

Steam_display_image

Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat proved he was still one of the toughest professional wrestlers of all time as the 57-year-old Hall of Famer took a series of lethal bumps as part of the latest Nexus attack.

Steamboat's most notable bumps included a spine buster from David Otunga (which he sold like gold) and the obligatory 450 splash from "Evil" Justin Gabriel.

Unfortunately, Steamboat's undying dedication to pro wrestling was only met with further injury, as the legend suffered a brain aneurysm following the storyline attack.

It seems that anything the Nexus touches, while coming off like a million bucks on camera, turns to controversy.

I'm just waiting for the day when Wade Barret sends the anonymous RAW GM an e-mail, only for the computer to receive a virus.
