The young Colorado Avalanche made the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the surprise of all, but next year will be the Avs year to hoist the cup yet again? Why? The main reason is the excellent selections of young players, which in turn has left them with $30m dollars in cap room, which could sign 3 big free agents! While all the talk is on LeBron going to the Heat, the Avs could do the same because they have good young talent and enough Cap Room ot nearly buy Lord Stanley's Cup.
Ahh, yes. The Avalanche killer Marty Turco will come to Colorado for the next four years or so. Craig Anderson was superb in net last year, but realistically, he isn't a Stanley Cup winning goaltender, and would be the best backup in the world. Turco and Dallas always crush the Avs, and now they sign the man behind the crushing.
They use up half of their cap space getting Ilya Kovalchuk. He will be their superstar from Day 1, and they were pursuing him at the trade deadline. He will get paid, but burgandy will have never looked better.
Tanguay is a big bargain. His production has been no where close to what it was in Colorado, where he was an All-Star. Tanguay will return, and will be the money-maker goal scorer with Matt Duchene and TJ Galiardi passing to him. He'll cost little to none and if he returns to Colorado, I GUARANTEE he will be an All-Star again.
