According to wrestleview.com, CM Punk had surgery Tuesday on his arm and will be out of action for six to eight weeks. Punk did appear on the SmackDown tv tapings Tuesday but he was in an arm sling.

The injury is huge to the WWE landscape because Punk was one of the top heels on SmackDown and his injury will be a huge blow weekly because he is solid in the ring and always has stellar matches. The injury does however give WWE an opportunity to not only push Punk's mic skills even more each week, but it could be a break for Luke Gallows to prove his worth in the ring and really get the straight edge society over with the IWC and WWE universe.
