The Spanish media continues to wonder whether the presence of Iker Casillas’ girlfriend Sara Carbonero as a pitch-side reporter in South Africa is causing the team’s usually unflappable goalkeeper to suddenly look like a bundle of nerves.
One person who is probably sick of hearing about the lovely Ms. Carbonero is Casillas’ former girlfriend, the equally lovely Eva Gonzalez.
In the interests of balance and journalistic objectivity, we feel it is important to present Eva’s side of the story.
Or at least some more photos of her.
Here is Gonzalez with Spain’s No. 1 in her days as queen of the Spanish WAGs.
Gonzalez was frequently seen supporting Spain during the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
One suspects that Casillas’ shaky performances in South Africa mean she is probably still tearing her hair out.
Now that she is no longer a WAG, Gonzalez has to find something else to do with her quadrennial summer holiday.
She’ll probably go to a beach near her hometown of Sevilla, which would probably look something like this.
As Sevilla isn’t a coastal city, getting to beach would require some traveling.
So Gonzalez probably has a swimming pool at her house, which would probably look something like this.
Gonzalez won the title of Miss Espana in 2003 and represented her country at the Miss Universe Pageant in Panama.
Despite being one of the favorites, Gonzalez did not even make the top 15, a shock that was almost matched by her national soccer team losing its World Cup opening match to Switzerland.
After handing over her ridiculous-looking Miss Espana crown to some other dark-haired Spanish beauty, Gonzalez embarked on a modeling and television career.
I’ll presume the photo on the left is from the modeling section of her portfolio.
Though in Spain this is probably what prime-time TV looks like.
In case you are wondering who Sara Carbonero is, here she is reporting from behind Casillas' goal.
Sorry Eva, there’s just no getting away from her.
Let’s give the final word to Eva.
It is her slideshow after all.
