Some may believe that there is a simple plan floating around out there to developing a great football team that is capable of winning 10-plus games, winning their conference, and/or contending for a national championship. But it is not simple at all, especially in the Big East Conference, which has been very competitive for the last several years.

Eight of its members have played in bowl games since 2005 and seven of eight teams have been ranked in the Top 25 at some point since 2003.

Even though it's not a simple task, there are basic keys to building a good team.
