Brett Favre, Barry Sanders, Michael Jordan, Editorial, Open Mic, Multiple Sports

I did part one of the article earlier this week on the athletes who should retire. Now, I am doing part two, which includes a list of those who retired too early (or were still in their prime):

  • B/R Ticket Guide
  • Barry Sanders
  • Brett Favre (yes, he is on this list also)
  • Tara Lipinski
  • Rusty Wallace
  • Michael Jordan (1993)
  • Tiki Barber (retired the year before the team won the Superbowl)
  • Joe Gibbs (1992)

When I think of more, I will add them. Look for a separate article about those who should of retired earlier.

  1. Just so you know. Ernie Irvan nearly died in Michigan, believe it was in '94 and came back a couple of years later. But wasn't the same driver as before the wreck. Only to have a second wreck at the same track, lost his short term memory and had to retire. Really with two severe head injuries, he had no choice compared to the rest of your above list.
