Okay yes the Knicks have been pathetic for some time but stop crying the Knicks are in good hands. In his short time of running the club Donnie has shown an ability to make deals and find bargins. The knicks went from the highest payroll and worst record to having a ton of flexability with the cap in 2 years, this is no small accomplishment. The team was loaded with horrible contracts and pathetic players.

Donnie has put the Knicks in a postion to be big players this year in free agency and we all know the list of FA. He has also been busy changing the culture of the club, after curry's worthless ass is gone there will be no character issues in the lcker room. Donnie has gotten rid of all the trash, he is rebuilding a club that was run into the ground by a bunch of idiots who looked for quick fixes for a decade. When you rebuild or remodel anything the first thing you do is take stock, evaluate and clean. Donnie is done with that part he brought in a coach who doesnt take shit from his players which is huge Im not a fan of Dantoni because the lack of D but players want to play for him and Donnie also knows that almost any player can thrive in his system making him an attractive coach to play for as well as increasing their value.

The fact is the club is heading in the right direction, if they miss on LBJ it will suck but you can bet your ass they will not make short sighted decissions and waste money just because they have the flexability for the first time in a decade. Donnie will tell anyone who pressures him to do so that he is the man in charge including Dolan. Dolan will say well lets get whoever and overpay just because we can and Donnie will say I have been doing this for you for a few years and thats what got this club screwd up if you over rule me I walk shut up and let me do my job.

Yes this is the most anticapated FA class ever and the Knicks want to be huge players they want titles and they want them now but if they miss out it wont be the end of the world. Donnie will actualy have cap space, draft picks, high character guys with good basketball IQs, a coah players want to play for, an owner willing to spend and the authority make the big decisions. Even without the FA class of 2010 what else would you have Donnie do, try and quick fix the pathetic club that WAS the Knicks?

Donnie is also assemblying young role players with the few assets he has to work with so when he can get a super star they are in place. It probaly wont be this year there only a few guys who rate max money and none of them will play in NY unless they first understand whats being done and that would be great will it happen I dont think so they will probaly be to short sighted. Donnie will make his pitches to the few guys who rate max deals and to the others but he wont over pay because he can.

So to all my fellow Knicks fans take stock of what Donnie has accomplished in his time he has for all itntensive purpose reset a pathetic club, he has given them a shot to get the second best player in the league (Kobe is better than LBJ because he has a killers instinct) along with some other very good talent. If he cant get them its not his fault its a mircale they are even in the discussion. Its been a decade since the Knicks have been relavent if the club strikes out this year oh well whats a few more years, it sucks but if they miss now I would rather wait and let Donnie build a perinial contender through the draft.

Any comments are welcome I know not everyone is gonna agree with my views and would love to hear what INFORMED fans of the league think.
