N.C. State football fans know who Russell Wilson is, and they also know that he is a multi-sport athlete, playing baseball and leading the Wolfpack offense on the football field. But do they know where Pasco, Washington is?
The answer is probably not, but hey, not many outside of Eastern Washington do.
Friday night, Wilson made his pro debut for the Rockies short-season A-ball team the Tri Cities Dust Devils.
Wilson made his debut to a sellout crowd at Gesa Stadium in Pasco and did not disappoint. He went 1-4, including a two-run single, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
After the game he told the local paper, "I tried not to treat this any differently than I would any other day."
Wilson was a fourth round pick of the Rockies in 2010, and should remain playing for the Dust Devils until fall practice starts in Raleigh.
