The Nets should draft Georgia Tech freshman Derrick Favors, and on July 1st go all out and sign Amare Stoudemire. Stoudermire would provide the leadership the New Jersey Nets are lacking. He will show Favors the toughness of the NBA game. Plus he gives the Nets a chance to rotate the three Lopez, Favors, and Stoudemire at center and power forward.

Favors is just 18 years old and he averaged 12.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks en route to being named the ACC Rookie of the Year.

"It would be a good experience," Favors said of playing for the Nets, who own the third pick. "I'd get to play with Brook Lopez, one of the good young big men in the NBA and I'd get to learn from coach Avery Johnson."

The Nets also believe they have a big chance to sign expected free agent forward Amar'e Stoudemire. A source said the Nets might make a deal Thursday after selecting Favors, or wait to see if one comes in July during the free-agency period. The source said if the Nets make a deal they would have to include the pick of Favors. Hopefully, the Nets could keep both players this would make the team much better. We'll see at draft time tonight.
