In an effort to improve the bats and the bullpen this season, the Yankees have acquired Xavier Nady and Damaso Marte from the Pittsburgh Pirates in return for Jose Tabata, Ross Ohlendorf, and Phil Coke.

The Yankees have been needing bullpen help and with Marte they do get it. Marte is 4-0 with a 3.47 ERA and can offer not only middle relief help but closing help as well. For Nady, he is having a great season batting .330. He has 13 homers on the season and batted in 57 runs.
