Rugby, Preview/Prediction, Australia Rugby, South Africa Rugby

In typical Australian fashion, the Wallabies have gotten all excited over one win against South Africa.

Whenever the Wallabies win a game, they think they are world beaters and start talking as if they are actually a good rugby side. But let's face it, this Australian side is useless and should have been playing in the Pacific Nations cup with the New Zealand Maori, Japan, Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji.

Berrick Barnes? Stephen Moore? Who are these guys?

Yes, these bunch of no names just beat South Africa. But don't forget that the South Africans were playing their third week in a row, having played the All Blacks in the two weeks before.

That had an effect on the game against Australia and it showed. They were lethargic, didn't show the urgency or aggression like they did against the All Blacks, and didn't really look like they wanted to be there.

People who know little about rugby will be thinking, "Hang on, Super 14 etc go on for 14-15 weeks in a row—you can't blame that." But three weeks of playing Super 14 rugby has nowhere near the physical effects of playing even one week of International rugby.

In tonight's game expect to see the Wallabies' front row get absolutely punished at scrum time. Al Baxter, Stephen Moore, and Benn Robinson have got nothing over Greg Somerville, Andrew Hore, and Tony Woodcock.

In the backs the All Blacks have the best player in the world in Dan Carer. And some would consider Mills Muliaina to be the best full back in the world. On the wings there is Sitiveni Sivivatu who always looks dangerous, and the underrated Anthony Tuitavake.

In the mid-field we have the fearless Richard Kahui who will single handedly stop Ryan Cross from gaining any meters, and Ma'a Nonu who will spend the night running over Berrick Barnes.

The only area in which the Wallabies could dominate the All Blacks is at the line out. The All Blacks line out was inconsistent and well below what the coaches want to see in the two tests vs. South Africa.

Tonight, the All Blacks will bring the Wallabies back to earth with a thump.

Score around 32-10 to the All Blacks.

  1. Ma'a No-who running over Berrick Barnes? And Richard Ka-who-ie sure didnt stop Ryan Cross waltzing over the tryline? I think you just printed how much you know about rugby.

Anyone who would predict any demolition between SA-NZ-Aus is truely a chump. This is a cry out from a scared little boy smarting over his loss in Perth.

And I bet now you're really scared Jason O.

  2. Open the other eye and look at the results so far for the Aussies, you'll see how much of a fool you really are! Eat humble pie d**k head.

    All Blacks & Wallabies rock!

  3. Who is this idiot? Wake up dummy! Truth be told , most Australians could not care less about rugby union, they play Australian rules football and Rugby League Football, yet they still always perform in Rugby Union. If Australia was really serious about rugby, then no one would beat them, and it looks as though they just might be starting to get serious. Remember 5 years ago the Wallabies held every trouphy in World Rugby, yet less than 4% of the country follow the sport.

    1. They dont always perform in rugby union and it was shown yet again when the ab's took home all of the silverware for yet another international season.

And the rugby league, 8th seed knocking over number 1. With only 4 million people, they still always perform in rugby league.

  4. GosH you almost got the score right -- must have been a literal that you chose ABs to win. a country that can retain as coach a bloke that choked on the big stage of the world cup is stuck in the past bugt then again with columnist like you what hope is there for a forward looking ABs. looking forward to your forecast for next week,. hope that literal doesnt show up again

  5. Word for the week SCHADENFREUDE "satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune"... and i'm currently experiencing a big dose of it.

hope you don't get paid for your rubbish... what an embarrassment.

The Internet - where any halfwit can have an opinion.

  6. Bleacher, clearly you know nothing about rugby.......

  7. Well done Jason, and yes you are a ill-informed dork who actually knows nothing about rugby or any respect for that game. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but can we make them sensible please? Your predictions could not be any worse than if it had come from a circus monkey bashing a few keys on a keyboard. Just a few points I'd like to express. It's obvious you know nothing about Australian rugby or their players, so why risk embarrassement in trying to pose that you know what your talking about? Berrick Barnes is an extremely important player to the Australian set up, and he had a massive impact on the last game. (Did you know he got man of the match performance?) Australia did not get punnished the scrum. Although they are not the standard of the NZ front three, they did a pretty reasonable job in providing steady ball. And for Australia not being a 'good rugby side' and classed as a second tier outfit (as you kindly mentioned), lets just face the facts. Australia handed it to the ABs last week. AB are facing their third straight loss in a very long time. Carter was outstanding, but the team performance for the AB was anything but, and you guys looked foolish. ABs still a great side and I'm not so sure whether the Wallabies will have enough for the second game. But still should be a great match. Jason, your an amateur. Cheer mindless for your team in the stands, but speak some sense in a rugby column.

    1. Dan,

All Blacks: Bledisloe and Tri-Nations Champions.

      Wallabies: Nothing as usual.

      From the ill-informed dork.
