Al Davis is no Joe Paterno

greg pitschSenior Analyst IJuly 25, 2008

In a recent interview at the podium, Joe Paterno, who is now 81 years old, and roughly the same age as Al Davis, repeatedly replied "I don't know." Both Joe and Al began their current campaign in the mid 60's. What is the difference between the two? One admits when he doesn't know.
Nothing against Al Davis, he is one of the most intriguing minds still in the NFL. In my opinion he is a genius in his own form.
Both Paterno and Davis have been ridiculed and asked to step down from fans. One question though, why would you step down from an empire? A King remains in power until his death, and so should these two. They are true inventors when it comes to American Football.
The interview with Paterno was beyond classic, it made him look very senile. Even though all, or most of the questions were directed towards when he would call it quits, it was simply hilarious.
As far as I have noticed Paterno is easy going and has a great personality, but Al Davis might to, but he is not one to be in front of the cameras.
"Should I spell it out for you, I don't know?"
"I don't know you guys."
