NFL Network: Seahawks Interested In Vincent Jackson? Don't Bet on It

One of my readers made me aware that the NFL Network just came out with a report that the Seattle Seahawks could be interested in restricted free agent Vincent Jackson.

Flipping there and checking one of the endless re-airings of the same broadcast, yes, Jason La Canfora said the Seattle Seahawks could make a play for him.

Be very skeptical of this report.

They just got done playing this game with another restricted elite receiver named Brandon Marshall, who was deemed too expensive at a bounty of two second round picks.

The Chargers will certainly use that as a measuring stick, and although Jackson is not as good as Marshall (he’s close), the price tag will be similar.

After dealing next years third round pick to the Chargers for Charlie Whitehurst already, it is highly unlikely the Seahawks will deal anything north of that figure.
