A major change occurred today to the UFC 116 card, which features the main event heavyweight championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin.

The co-main event for 116 was originally scheduled to be Wanderlei Silva versus Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-1).

However, as Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com first reported, Silva has been forced to withdraw from the co-feature fight due to injury.

MMAWeekly.com lead writer Damon Martin has now reported that Chris "The Crippler" Leben (20-6) has stepped up and accepted the fight against Akiyama.

Leben was victorious this past Saturday night at The Ultimate Fighter Finale . The Crippler faced former wrestling standout Aaron Simpson, whom he defeated via a second-round TKO (punches).

UFC 116 will have its usual five-fight main card, but will also feature two fights airing live on Spike TV.
