Things change in the NHL after you win a Conference Championship. This will not be any different for the Flyers entering 2010-2011.
Here are five key games that both Philadelphia fans and the players will be getting pumped up for this season.
No. 5: December 11, Flyers @ Boston Bruins
Coming back from a 3-0 series deficit is something that very few teams have been able to accomplish in the NHL. December 11th will be Philadelphia's first time back to Boston since their amazing comeback during this year's playoffs.
No. 4: November 7, Flyers @ Washington Capitals
The Capitals finished the 2009-2010 regular season as the top seed heading into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
After a quit exit in the first round, Washington will look to regain form in 2010-2011 and dethrone Philly as the conference champs. This will be the first match up between these two teams next season.
No. 3: November 4, New York Rangers @ Flyers
Games between the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers are always fast-paced and exciting. This match-up in November should offer more of the same as New York will make their first trip to Philadelphia for the season.
It is worth noting Philadelphia solidified their playoff birth on the last day of the 2009-2010 season in a shootout win over the Rangers.
No. 2: October 7, Flyers @ Pittsburgh Penguins (Opening Night)
The Flyers will be the first guests inside the brand-new Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh when the new season begins in October.
In a rivalry that has split the state of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh is a fan favorite game for both teams' fans.
This will also be the first time fans get a look at their teams for the 2010-2011 season.
No. 1: January 23, Flyers @ Chicago Blackhawks
A rematch of the Stanley Cup final will ensue towards the end of January and everyone knows that Philadelphia will be seeking some revenge.
This game is sure to be circled on the calendar and will more than likely be one of the few nationally televised games this upcoming season.
