I have published a few similar articles recently in which my assessments have been accurate enough for me to be tempted to try my hand at predicting who will be the new GM of Raw.
Now, I am not for one second stating that WWE have decided who will take over for Bret Hart. In fact, I don't think that WWE have a clue who they want to replace him. I have a few ideas—some more likely than others.
We all know that The Rock said he was going to return to WWE this summer to "do something special."
Many had speculated that he would return as a semi-permanent guest host. But, with the guest host concept having been stripped of any authority, it would be pointless bringing him in as a guest host.
It would be a great angle. If WWE decided not to unveil the Rock as the GM for a few weeks and allowed speculation and excitement build, it would make for an epic return to WWE for The Rock.
I think that The Rock is a likely choice to be unveiled as the new General Manager.
I know he was just "fired" by Vince, but, with the recent developments on Raw last week where the Nexus attacked Vince, I wouldn't be surprised to see him re-instated.
I know it makes absolutely no sense as WWE have kayfabe found a new GM already and it would be stupid to unveil Bret as the successor to himself, but, stranger things have happened in WWE.
WWE have tried this appointment twice before, and both times it has failed for whatever reasons.
Personally, I don't want to see Vickie as the GM of Raw again. Whenever it happens, creative seem to be unable to find a way for her to fit in and then write her off tv.
Vickie is a possible choice, but I don't want to see her get the job. It's probably unlikely too, as Vince referred to the GM as "he."
A Developmental Talent
You know how it works. WWE have no clue as to who to appoint and just pick some random developmental talent who simply can't make it as a wrestler.
The best example of somebody like this is Abraham Washington.
A WWE Legend/Hall of Famer
In my opinion, an unlikely choice. You know the ones I'm talking about—Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Steamboat or DiBiase.
A legend who has worked with WWE recently or currently works with WWE and somebody who can spare the time to take the job.
The odds of Stone Cold getting the job are a billion to one as he is so busy. It's not impossible, but it's highly improbable.
This would be a good choice to further Triple H's injury angle. It would provide a way for him to get back on tv while staying out of the ring and allowing him to heal up.
But, I can't see the point of it other than that. HHH wants to spend time with his family and returning earlier than he has to wouldn't make sense.
I rate his chances as 50/50.
What a slap in the face that would be to TNA! Just picture it, TNA spend weeks trying to persuade him to come in and help their sinking ship.
Then, one phone call from WWE and he's jumping on their bandwagon and TNA are left with the view of a man giving them the V-Sign as he rides off into the sunset with a big pay-cheque sticking out of his ass pocket.
Now I know this is almost as unlikely as Stone Cold becoming the GM, but what an appointment it would be!
The evil genius himself in charge of Raw. We might get some decent decisions then!
As I said, it's highly unlikely as he didn't leave WWE on good terms. But, if it's good for business, Vince won't hesitate to make the call.
Good Ol' JR
Another unlikely option.
When Vickie vacated the job a few weeks ago, JR categorically stated that he had no interest in becoming the new GM as his body wouldn't cope with the travel stress.
However, if he does accept, WWE will have no hesitation in offering him the job.
Also, if he is unveiled as the GM, my petition is pointless!
What are your opinions on this subject? Am I right? Am I talking total nonsense? Leave your comments below!
Please sign my petition to allow JR to announce the 900th episode of Raw. My thanks to everybody helping me to promote it and to those who have signed it.
