With the annual organized madness that is Wisconsin student ticket sales happening today, I’m sure I’m like many with Badger football on the mind.
Granted, we’re still roughly 75 days from actually seeing the cardinal and white storm Las Vegas for their first tilt of the year.
But considering the high expectations for this year’s squad, it is never too early to start projecting.
Just how high are expectations, though?
Well, that’s what I’m here to tell you: The sky is the limit.
In my estimation, this may very well finally be the year that the Badgers can avoid that one dreaded slip-up that has ruined their Rose Bowl chances in a handful of years in the past decade.
While conference realignment renders the conference names absolute misnomers—the Big Ten with 12 and the Big 12 with 10—all of that mess doesn’t go into effect for another year.
Which means that for UW to earn a BCS bid (and possibly a championship game opportunity), they don’t yet have to concern themselves with a tricky Big Ten championship matchup—all they must do is run the table in the regular season.
Will it be easy? Of course not.
But is it feasible? Without a doubt.
