NHRA E3 Spark Plugs Thunder Valley Nationals Qualifying Results Saturday

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series is in Thunder Valley at Bristol Dragway in Tennessee. Qualifying started Friday with Antron Brown and Ashley Force Hood atop the Top Fuel and Funny Car fields, respectively, with Mike Edwards in Pro Stock. Saturday qualifying didn't see much change, but Allen Johnson took his Mopar to the top of charts ahead of Mike Edwards in Pro Stock Qualifying.

Antron Brown comes into Bristol with another No. 1 qualifier in his Matco Tools Dragster after finishing runner up to Larry Dixon at Englishtown last weekend. Brown at a 3.856 at 314.24 mph remained atop the charts with Cory Mac in second and point leader Larry Dixon in third. Dixon comes into Bristol 199 points ahead of Tony Schumacher in the NHRA Top Fuel Standings.

Ashley Force Hood put the Castrol Ford Mustang on top for a No. 1 qualifier at Thunder Valley with a 4.151 at 296.70 mph with Cruz Pedergon and Matt Hagan in the top three. Last week's runner up Del Worsham qualified in fourth with Jack Beckman in fifth.

Allen Johnson , yes Allen Johnson bumped Mike Edwards off the top spot in Pro Stock in qualifying Saturday at Bristol. Johnson in his Mopar ran a 6.722 at 205.10 mph with Edwards second at a 6.725 at 205.54. Kurt Johnson, Ron Krisher and Rickie Jones round out the top five from Thunder Valley.

NHRA Raceday starts at 3:30pm Sunday on ESPN2 with Final Rounds from Bristol at 4pm from Thunder Valley and Bristol Dragway.
