Tampering issues with Vikings switch gears

News is now surfacing that Brett Favre does not even have a cell phone issued by the Green Bay Packers.

Prior reports had speculated that the evidence the Packers have against the Minnesota Vikings in their tampering charges are cell phone records of Favre speaking to both Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and head coach Brad Childress.

“One-hundred percent, without a doubt, no Packers-issued phone,” an anonymous source is quoted as saying in the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Reporter Pete Dougherty says two sources confirm that Favre has no such cell phone - one NFL source and another close to Favre.

It's also been reported by The Minneapolis Star Tribune that NFL officials visited Vikings' offices on Wednesday to investigate possible tampering charges.

It's possible the Packers still have evidence the public doesn't know about yet, but until further information becomes available, it is yet to be known how the tampering issue will unfold. Based upon the tampering charges the Chicago Bears brought against the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year, it's possible the Packers could receive a future draft choice of the Minnesota Vikings.
