You probably caught this yesterday in Dave Matter's blog but Corby Jones has joined FSN as a studio analyst. I'm so pumped about this because it has to increase our chances of getting to see some occasional Corby highlights.

Corby's in my pantheon of athletes along with Penny Hardaway, Brian Grawer and Andre Rison that I will always remember being better than they actually were. He's in there for a couple reasons. First of all, The '97 Mizzou-Nebraska game was the first college football game I remember watching from start to finish and Corby, by an standard, was sensational in that game. I had never seen anything like him. So that was branded into my memory and since I didn't really pay close attention to things when I was 9 I just assumed he played every game like that.

The other reason was NCAA Football '98. That was one of the great football video games of its time on the original Playstation and back then if you had a quarterback that could run, on any football video game, he was going to be unstoppable.

But anyways, I'm a sucker for nostalgia so I am really looking forward to FSN's college football coverage this season.

*Side note: Did you know Corby was a potential candidate for state treasurer?
