An early favorite to win the Bellator Season Two Welterweight Tournament, Dan Hornbuckle came into the Kansas City Power and Light District confident that his ability and experience would be more that enough to beat Ben Askren and setup a showdown with Bellator Welterweight champion Lyman Good.
From the opening bell though it was apparent that Askren's superior wrestling and top control were too much for the talented American Top Team Fighter.
While Hornbuckle was able to lock in a few stellar submission attempts, Askren remained calm and continually regained the dominate position en route to a unanimous decision victory.
After the fight Bleacher Report MMA caught up with Hornbuckle to get his thoughts on how the fight played out.
