Bellator XXII: Ben Askren Handles The Handler (B/R MMA Video Interview)

Robert GardnerSenior Analyst IJune 18, 2010

In a dominating performance in the Kansas City Power and Light District, former two-time NCAA National Champion and 2008 Olympian, Ben Askren, captured the Bellator Season Two Welterweight tournament championship.

While Asken was very confident leading up to the fight many, including myself, felt that Dan Hornbuckle's experience would be too much to over come but Askren was able to utilize his superb wrestling pedigree to perfection en route to a decisive unanimous decision victory.

With the victory, Askren not only takes home a $100,000 payday but he also earns a shot at Bellator welterweight champion Lyman Good for the title later on this year.

After the fight Bleacher Report MMA had an opportunity to catch up with Askren about his win.
