Could Someone Make History at The NHL Draft?
We've seen a Brazilian drafted in Robyn Regehr (though technically Canadian) and a Nigerian in Akim Aliu, Slovenians in Kopitar and Mursak, the French in Cristobal Huet and Maxine Sauve and our first Italian last year in Thomas Larkin.
Is it time to see our first Spaniard?
Alejandro Pedraz has been playing at the famed Finnish club KalPa since the age of 15, and has now become a staple in the national team competing in IIHF tournaments. Reading about him, he seems to have a little talent.
NHL.com did an article on him last year
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=406618
A team who drafted him could get quite some publicity especially amongst the Spanish speaking community even if at the bottom of the last round.
