Bryan Caraway vs. Fredson Paixao Added To WEC 50

Elite XC veteran Bryan Caraway (12-4) will meet Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Fredson Paixao (9-3) in a featherweight contest on the undercard of WEC 50.  Originally Paixao and Caraway were scheduled to meet in March of this year, however, Caraway was injured just days before the bout.

WEC 50 will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 18th and in the main event will be a rematch between Dominick Cruz and Joseph Benavidez for the WEC bantamweight title.

Fredson Paixao has gone 1-1-1 in the WEC and will look to put himself on the map with a win over Caraway.  In Paixao's last bout, he made short work of Courtney Buck by submitting him in the first round with a rear naked choke.

Brian Caraway recently made the move to Sacremento, California to start training at Team Alpha Male with the likes of WEC standouts Joseph Benavidez and Urijah Faber.

Before injuring his knee in March, Caraway suffered defeat in his WEC debut against Canadian striker Mark Hominick via triangle choke.  If Caraway is to avoid going 0-2 in the WEC, he will need to keep this fight standing at all costs.
