Will Barry Bonds Be a New York Yankee?

Ryan Gaydos@@RyanGaydosSenior Analyst IJuly 24, 2008

Barry Bonds, the indicted free agent home run king of baseball, has been brought up as a possible free agent, signing by the New York Yankees in Yankee meetings this past week.

Why shouldn't he be? With Hideki Matsui out for the year and Jorge Posada on the DL, the Yankees could use the power surge, and they need to make some kind of move before next Thursday's trade deadline.

I think that Bonds would be a great addition to a Yankee team.  The problem would be the negative publicity that Hank Steinbrenner would get even though I don't think he would mind it at all.

The Yankees are right now sitting in third place in the AL East 3.5 games back from the Tamp Bay Rays. They face Boston in a three game series starting tomorrow in Boston.
