Could Bills fans be seeing some new formations

The Buffalo Bills have three starting caliber running backs on their roster with the drafting of running back CJ Spiller this past April’s National Football League Draft.

Then today with Lynch reporting to organized team activities the Bills could be implementing formations this year that may have not be seen in a long time.

Back in modified high school at Cheektowaga Central we ran a wishbone offense.

For those who don’t know what I am talking about the wishbone is a formation with two tight ends and three running backs, which I wouldn’t doubt we see in goalline and short yard age situations.

However, that is not what I am talking about.

What I am talking about is that on first and second down we could see a wishbone formation, but instead of two tight ends we could see two wide receivers or a tight end and a wide receiver.

Then once the Bills are lined up and set who ever the quarterback would then signal a running back to motion out of the backfield, two running backs shift out of the back field, or all three shift out leaving it empty.

That would them create a huge mismatch withone of the running backs on a safety or linebacker.

In the end, if the Bills offense is going to be decent it is going to take some out of the box thinking.
