Khloe Kardashian, Kendra Wilkinson and the E! Reality Show Sports Curse
How in the world could a creature this lovely ever be linked to a sports curse?
There's plenty of Colts fans that think Kendra Wilkinson is as infamous in sports history as the Curse of the Bambino or the Cubs goat.
Well, not quite that bad. But there's a connection forming between the shapely stars of the E! reality shows and sports collapses.
It began with Kendra and has spread to Khloe Kardashian's beau too.
Growing Up With Sports
Wilkinson grew up in San Diego, so it would be logical that she should be a Chargers fan if anything.
Her mother Patti used to be a Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader in her heyday. That love of the Eagles spread to her kids.
Noticed By Hef
Wilkinson got on the Playboy radar when Hugh Hefner noticed a photo of her on the fax machine at the Playboy Mansion.
Hef then hired her to be a body painted girl at his 78th birthday party in April 2004.
Part of the Threesome
Wilkinson soon became part of Hef's harem.
She was part of a threesome of Hefner girlfriends with Holly Madison and Bridgette Marquardt.
The trio became the stars of an E! reality show, "The Girls Next Door."
Career On the Rise
Kendra soon went on to make cameos in shows like "Las Vegas" and "Entourage."
She's also crossed over into movies with appearances in films like "Scary Movie 4."
Never Shy About Her Love of Sports
After her breakout success with Playboy, Wilkinson became a guest blogger with the Philadelphia Eagles in December 2005.
The next year, the Eagles drafted wide receiver Hank Baskett.
The Rumors Begin
The pair reportedly began dating in early 2008 and were engaged in October of that year.
Around the same time, Kendra was working on a spinoff of "The Girls Next Door," her very own show.
"Kendra" premiered in June 2009 with record-breaking ratings for E! It featured Kendra's day-to-day life, including her relationship with Baskett.
The Marriage
The show was timed to coincide with the couple's marriage on June 27, 2009 at the Playboy Mansion.
Ten weeks later, Baskett found out he was leaving the Eagles and headed to the Indianapolis Colts after Anthony Gonzalez suffered a knee surgery.
Wilkinson was very vocal about not being excited about the move to Indianapolis.
And Baby Makes Glee?
Two weeks before the wedding, Wilkinson announced that she and Baskett were having a child.
Hank Baskett IV was born on Dec. 11, 2009.
On the field, daddy never quite meshed with the Colts offense, catching just four balls for 28 yards.
The Curse Begins
Wilkinson was alongside Kim Kardashian as a double shot of E! reality stars in relationships with Super Bowl players in February.
Kendra's hubby Hank fumbled an onside kick that is viewed by Colts fans as the gaffe that gave away the Super Bowl.
Reggie Bush underwhelmed in the game as he has for most of his career.
Kardashian and Bush broke up soon after the game.
Wilkinson and Baskett were rumored to be headed to divorce when her sex tape was released last month.
But Kendra recently tweeted that all is well with the couple and they're preparing for a move to Philly as Baskett starts his second stint with the Eagles.
Two Sisters, Two Sports Stars
Many Hollywood gossip insiders say that it was Kim Kardashian's upstaging of Bush on the NFL Network Super Bowl post-game show that was the beginning of the end for the two.
As one sports relationship ended, another was culminating in nuptials
Kim's sister Khloe began dating Lakers star Lamar Odom.
A Quick Courtship
Kardashian and Odom reportedly started dating over the summer of 2009.
By September 2009, there were already rumors of marriage.
That rumor was true. The pair married on Sept. 27, 2009.
A Major Distraction?
It was no secret that Odom has always liked the Los Angeles lifestyle. He has appeared in music videos and reality TV shows before dating Kardashian and has his own film and music production company, Rich Soil Entertainment.
Lakers fans fumed on message boards as the Kardashian union became more public. They felt Odom was more focused on his off-the-court fame than his play with the team.
The Numbers Don't Help
Odom's stats with the Lakers have done nothing to help his case.
When he came to L.A., many NBA pundits thought it was the perfect fit for Odom to go from a 16-point-per-game guy to a a 20-to-25-point guy.
But it has never happened. In fact, Odom's numbers just keep going down.
This past year as Mr. Kardashian has shown his worst output with 10.8 points per game.
Playoffs Have Only Gotten Worse
As Khloe Kardashian becomes a more high-profile bankable celebrity thanks to controversial spreads like this, Odom's stardom just continues to fade.
The contrast has never been more clear than during the NBA Finals. Odom was seen as the X factor in the series and has been almost invisible thus far at a time when Kobe Bryant desperately needs a second and third scoring option.
Meanwhile, Kardashian's newest E! reality show, "Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami," premiered its second season last week to excellent ratings.
Divorce? Babies?
Many Hollywood insiders believe the Kardashian clan plants their own salacious tabloid rumors to keep their names in the headlines.
The latest with Kardashian and Odom have centered around a quickie divorce and a baby on the way.
The pair have both said the divorce rumors are a hoax.
As for the baby, Kardashian said Tuesday that she actually took a pregnancy test and there's no bun in the oven.
That's good news for Lakers fans, who are hoping that Odom sheds the E! reality star over the summer and comes back focused on finishing his career by finally living up to some of the promise of his early days.
