Mankins needs to think before he talks

Albert Breer of the Boston Globe reported that New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins isn’t happy and wants to be traded.

With what Breer has reported now and what Mankins is quoted as saying Mankins need to start thinking before he talks.

According to Breer Mankins said, “I was asked to play ‘09 out, and that they would address contractafter the uncapped year. I’m a team player, I took them at word, and I felt I played out an undervalued contract.”

If you read Mankins statement carefully you will notice his flawed logic as the uncapped year hasn’t been completed.

So, if the Patriots said that and lived up to their word they wouldn’t offer a new contract until 2011.

That means the only person not living up to their word is Mankins whinning for a new deal.

On top of that Breers now reports that the Patriots have offered a five year $35 million contract that has been on the negotiating table a while.

So, what Mankins really is whinning about is not being the highest paid gaurd in the National Football League.

In the end, the only thing players are accomplishing is looking like spoiled brats.
