Second-round pick Martellus Bennett has come to terms on a four-year deal with the Cowboys Thursday morning, just a few hours before the team flies to California.

Analysis: Having traded Anthony Fasano to Miami, tight end became a need and Bennett was considered one of the best in the class.

He holds the school record with a catch in 29 straight games and he finished his career with 105 catches for 1,246 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is also considered a good blocker.

Roster spot: He needs to be a factor because the coaches want to be able to move Jason Witten around more. Bennett admitted the playbook is more involved than it was at A&M and he needed to be in better condition.

The coaches, however, see his willingness to work and learn. If he can't become the No. 2 tight end, then that job goes to Tony Curtis.
