Eskimos open up the preseason vs Calgary

The Edmonton Eskimos kick off their preseason today at 5PM Mountain time in the battle of Alberta vs the Calgary Stampeders and even though its only preseason, it will still be an intense battle. Last season, the Stamps knocked off the Eskimos 24-21 in the Western Division semi finals, mainly due to the fact that the Esks were unable to contain QB Henry Burris (2002) who rushed for 63 yards and threw for 264 yards.

Burris, will play at least the first half for Calgary, while Boise state QB legend Jared Zbransky should see quite a bit of playing time for the eskimos (Zbransky is #3 on the eskimos QB depth chart behind Jason Mass and Ricky Ray who threw for 22 TD's last season).

Tonight, will mark the first ever game played at Commonwelth Stadium in Edmonton that will not happen on natural grass, the grass was removed over the past winter and this spring in place of field turf, natural grass had been at Commonwelth since the Eskimos first moved into the stadium in 1978.

Prediction: Esks win tonight 35-24
