With the most anticipated game of the World Cup to date just hours away, we still do not know who will take the field for either England or the USA.

For England the main talking point has to be who will take their position in goals. With Fabio Capello determined to keep his cards very, very close to his chest.

Robert Green is the favourite, but this is probably the wrong choice on all levels.

Green, of West Ham is a good goalkeeper on his day, and his hard work and solid form have presented international opportunities.

But surely the experience of David James, or the form and confidence of Joe Hart would represent a better choice.

Bob Bradley and the US squad have to take advantage of this decision if it arises.

Green is suspect to nerves, and in such a big game with these Jubalani balls, a mistake could just be a shot away.

More importantly for the US though is who is preferred in the striking role.

Jozy Altidore has returned from an ankle injury, and passed a fitness test in the run up to the game.

Edson Buddle made a positive contribution when scoring two goals in a 3-1 victory over Australia last weekned.

Robbie Findley offers something different, his pace could trouble the likes of Ledley King if selected. He lacks the composure and quality of the two above.

Herculez Gomez has been in great form in the Mexican league this season, but he maybe used more as an impact substitute in the competition.

Four strikers who all have a chance to make their mark on American Soccer.

Altidore has to start, he is the only one who has the experience of play European football - altough this is only limited.

He possess the greatest the ability of the available options, and his power and direct style of play will bring the likes of Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey into play.

So who should partner 20-year-old of Haitian decent.

It depends on what sort of game plan Coach Bradley has.

If he wants to play in the same style that saw them reach the Confederation Cup Final last season, then he'll play Real Salt Lake's Robbie Findley.

Findley is like a poor mans Charlie Davies, and he will give Altidore a pacy side kick to work alongside.

He may go down another route, he may play Buddle up with Altidore and go for all out power. This is the more unlikely option, but even if they don't start this with them, this could be the option if they decide to play a more direct stlye.

Whoever he decides to go with will need to be at their best as the US look to spring a big surprise in the Group C opener.
