After another stellar home stand (5-1) the Mets looked to take their winning show on the road, packing the away bags for a 9 game road trip.  The boys in blue hoped to keep the "homementum" going in Baltimore against a struggling Orioles team that had lost 12 of their last 15 games.  Led by R.A. Dickey, who allowed only 1 ER over 7 innings while striking out a career high 8, the Mets were able to take game 1 of this 3 game set by a score of 5-1.

In the top of the 4th inning with one out and men on first and second, Chris "The Animal" Carter (1-3 HR, 3RBI) supplied the offensive fire works.  On a 2-1 hanging change up off the outside part of the plate the Animal produced his first major league home run, giving the Mets a 4-1 lead.  For what it's worth, the HR and RBI's topped Gary Matthews Jr.'s totals in both areas (0 HR, 1 RBI) for the year.  When asked about how it felt to hit the home run tonight Carter had this to say:TO READ THE REST OF THIS ARTICLE HEAD TO METSZILLA.COM BY CLICKING HERE: http://www.metszilla.com/?p=1158
